Luciano Sanchez

Luciano Sanchez is a lowbrow pop-surrealist artist who focuses on themes of Kustom Kulture through post-apocalyptic, vintage, and science-fiction lenses.

Artist Statement

My work is within the movement appeared in the late 1970s in California known as Lowbrow Art or Pop-surrealism, This allows me to have a field of creation where the main protagonists are elements extracted directly from the world of the engine more “vintage”, the underground comic, films of science fiction or pop culture among others always mixed with a dose of pessimism and post-apocalyptic connotations, all of them make up my work, besides the work is loaded with references to the 70’s, 80 or 90 as or a yearning for a better past.

Mi trabajo se encuentra dentro del movimiento aparecido a finales de los años 70 en California conocido como arte Lowbrow o Pop-surrealismo ,éste me permite tener un campo de creación donde los principales protagonistas sean elementos extraídos directamente del mundo del motor más “vintage”, el cómic underground, películas de ciencia ficción o la cultura pop entre otros mezclado siempre con una dosis de pesimismo y connotaciones postapocalípticas, todas ellas conforman mi obra, además el trabajo está cargado de referencias a los años 70,80 o 90 como o un anhelo de un pasado mejor.
